{"id":453992,"date":"2026-02-02T17:31:08","date_gmt":"2026-02-02T17:31:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/453992\/"},"modified":"2026-02-02T17:31:08","modified_gmt":"2026-02-02T17:31:08","slug":"mma-buys-new-york-based-maritime-broker","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/453992\/","title":{"rendered":"MMA buys New York-based maritime broker"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Marsh McLennan Agency on Monday said it has acquired Robinson &amp; Son.<\/p>\n<p>Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.<\/p>\n<p>The Hudson Falls, New York-based broker provides property\/casualty insurance and specializes in insurances coverages for maritime industry.<\/p>\n<p>Robinson &amp; Son has six employees, according to an email from a spokesperson.<\/p>\n<p>All employees, including co-founder and agency principal James Robinson, will join MMA and remain at their existing Hudson Falls office location, Marsh McLennan said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Robinson &amp; Son was founded in 2005 by James Robinson and his father Peter Robinson, who has retired.<\/p>\n<p>Jerry Alderman, CEO of MMA\u2019s Northeast region, said in the statement Robinson &amp; Son has strong ties to the maritime industry.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Robinson said in the statement joining MMA would give Robinson &amp; Son \u201caccess to broader resources.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Marsh McLennan Agency on Monday said it has acquired Robinson &amp; Son.
