Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1, has been speaking about the new partnership between F1 and Apple during an Apple TV press day, following on from the announcement in October that Apple would become the sport\u2019s exclusive US broadcast partner from 2026.<\/p>\n
News of the partnership<\/a> followed on from the success of F1 The Movie<\/a>, the Apple Original Film which was released internationally in cinemas and IMAX venues in June and made its global streaming debut on Apple TV in December.<\/p>\n It has since been announced that the film has received four nominations at the upcoming Academy Awards (Oscars)<\/a> under the \u2018Best Picture\u2019, \u2018Visual Effects\u2019, \u2018Sound\u2019 and \u2018Film Editing\u2019 categories.<\/p>\n In conversation with Eddy Cue, Apple\u2019s Senior Vice President of Services, at the Apple TV press day in Los Angeles, Domenicali discussed topics including the making of F1 The Movie, the excitement of the 2026 regulations<\/a> and the vision for the sport going forward.<\/p>\n Domenicali spoke of his hope that the \u201cgreat partnership\u201d between Formula 1 and Apple will \u201claunch our sport through Apple TV for our American fans\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s a beautiful opportunity that we\u2019re going to do with passion, with determination, because we are resilient,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n \u201cI always said to Eddy, we have a dream that is more than a dream \u2013 it\u2019s an obligation to our fans to develop the sport, to make sure that F1 is becoming a part of the culture here in the United States.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s very respectful of what you love in terms of sports and business, but our dream would be, one day, not only waking up to follow the Super Bowl or NBA or MLS, but also F1. That\u2019s what we\u2019re going to do together.\u201d<\/p>\n In addition to showing F1 on Apple TV, Apple will amplify the sport across Apple News, Apple Maps, Apple Music, Apple Sports, and Apple Fitness+.<\/p>\n The new broadcast agreement will see Apple TV host all Free Practice, Qualifying, Sprint sessions, and Grands Prix. Select races and all Free Practice sessions throughout the season will also be available to watch for free in the Apple TV app.<\/p>\n
