A host of big-name players have entered the final five months of their contracts and, unless they renew, will be available as free agents in the summer transfer window\"MANCHESTER,<\/p>\n

The January transfer window<\/a> has been and gone, but clubs can still do business between now and the end of the season. Every year, a star-studded list of players who are set to become free agents on July 1 grabs the attention of football fans around the world<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And 2026 is no different, with players from Manchester United<\/a> and Liverpool<\/a> among the names who can take advantage of the Bosman Rule. The famous football ruling allows a player to leave a club on a free transfer as soon as their contract expires.<\/p>\n

The Bosman Rule has allowed some major deals to go through in recent years, including Lionel Messi<\/a> to Paris Saint-Germain<\/a>, Kylian Mbappe<\/a> to Real Madrid<\/a>, Robert Lewandowski<\/a> to Bayern Munich<\/a>, and who can forget Sol Campbell<\/a> to Arsenal<\/a>? What’s more is that in the Premier League, a player can sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club before their current deal runs out and secure their future.<\/p>\n

So who’s on the market this year? Mirror Football picks out an XI of stars who, as things stand, will be available for free.<\/p>\n

After Mike Maignan extended his contract with AC Milan<\/a> last week, the outstanding goalkeeper with five months left on their deal is Manuel Neuer<\/a>. The legendary German remains Bayern’s No.1 but his future is uncertain.<\/p>\n

Neuer will turn 40 in March and by then we’re likely to know more about whether he’ll be staying at the Allianz Arena for a 16th season. Imagine how much fun he’d be in the Premier League<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Dani Carvajal<\/p>\n

A modern-day Real Madrid legend, it’ll be strange to see Los Blancos without Dani Carvajal<\/a> in their squad if he leaves this summer. Despite the signing of Trent Alexander-Arnold<\/a>, it’s actually been Federico Valverde who has the right-back spot nailed down.<\/p>\n

There are conflicting reports as to whether Carvajal, 34, will be offered a renewal or is willing to sign one. The Spaniard’s departure would be another signal of changing times at the Bernabeu.<\/p>\n

John Stones<\/p>\n

Continuing in defence, John Stones<\/a>‘ contract with Manchester City<\/a> also runs out on June 30. Currently injured, it’s been reported that 31-year-old Stones will have to prove his fitness in order to earn an extension.<\/p>\n

His place in Thomas Tuchel’s<\/a> England<\/a> squad is also in doubt after just 13 appearances this season. We could’ve gone with Dayot Upamecano, but he’s said to have agreed a new deal with Bayern.<\/p>\n

Ibrahima Konate<\/p>\n

A double Liverpool offering for you now and first up is Ibrahima Konate<\/a>. Once tipped to join Real Madrid on a free transfer, that rumour has gone quiet in recent months.<\/p>\n

France<\/a> international Konate hasn’t been at his best this season but he’s still a top centre-back. After missing out on Marc Guehi<\/a>, however, it’s become more likely that the ex-RB Leipzig<\/a> star will renew his deal.<\/p>\n

\"MILAN,<\/p>\n

Andy Robertson<\/p>\n

A man who could’ve left Liverpool in January, Andy Robertson<\/a> was the subject of interest from Tottenham<\/a>. The Reds put their foot down and prevented any switch from happening, although Spurs are still keen on signing him for free in the summer.<\/p>\n

Left-back Robertson’s lack of regular game time at Anfield is a concern ahead of captaining Scotland<\/a> at the World Cup<\/a>, so it’s no surprise that he was considering his options. Don’t be shocked if talk of a move to Tottenham crops up again soon.<\/p>\n

Bernardo Silva<\/p>\n

Into midfield now and Bernardo Silva<\/a> has just about been tipped to leave Manchester City<\/a> every summer since the pandemic, yet he’s always stayed put. But could it finally be the end?<\/p>\n

The Portuguese, 31, has reportedly indicated that this will be his final season at the Etihad. Pep Guardiola<\/a> once said that Bernardo would be welcome at City until the day he’s no longer manager, and that might come this summer.<\/p>\n

Casemiro<\/p>\n

Heading to the other side of Manchester now and Casemiro<\/a> has already confirmed that he’ll be leaving United in June. Still able to perform in the Premier League, the 33-year-old Brazilian has physically benefitted from playing one game per week at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n

His goal and assist against Fulham<\/a> were a reminder of what he’s capable of. Cristiano Ronaldo’s<\/a> Al-Nassr<\/a> have long been linked with signing Casemiro and they’re among the favourites to snap him up.<\/p>\n

Leon Goretzka<\/p>\n

Another confirmed exit, Leon Goretzka’s time at Bayern will be up in five months’ time. Linked with a move to Atletico Madrid<\/a> in January, the Bundesliga<\/a> champions decided not to cash in on the midfielder before announcing that he wouldn’t be offered a new contract.<\/p>\n

Goretzka, 30, has played a bit-part role since Vincent Kompany’s<\/a> appointment in the summer of 2024, although he’s still contributed and been praised for his professionalism. He’d be a handy signing for most Premier League teams.<\/p>\n

Harry Wilson<\/p>\n

One of the Premier League’s in-form players, Harry Wilson<\/a> is set to have clubs lining up for him in the summer. Like Fulham manager Marco Silva<\/a>, he’s on course to wave goodbye to Craven Cottage.<\/p>\n

Wilson, 28, was the subject on an enquiry from Everton<\/a> on transfer deadline day<\/a> but it was knocked back, with the Wales<\/a> international having scored six goals and provided four assists in his last 12 league appearances. Serge Gnabry<\/a> was a candidate for our XI but he’s agreed to extend his stay at Bayern, according to reports.<\/p>\n

\"MANCHESTER,<\/p>\n

Robert Lewandowski<\/p>\n

No stranger to a free transfer, Lewandowski’s four-year stint with Barcelona<\/a> looks to be coming to a natural end. The Poland<\/a> captain is 37 and with an array of attacking talent at Hansi Flick’s<\/a> disposal, he’s no longer a guaranteed starter.<\/p>\n

But watch his recent finish against Real Madrid and look at his 42 goals last season, and you’d think otherwise. Linked with moves to AC Milan<\/a>, Chicago Fire and clubs in the Saudi Pro League<\/a>, Lewandowski won’t be short of options.<\/p>\n

One of those could be staying at Barca on a reduced salary, with the veteran striker and his family happy in Catalunya. Lewandowski is set to make his decision after Barcelona’s presidential elections in March.<\/p>\n

Dusan Vlahovic<\/p>\n

Once one of the most in-demand strikers in Europe, Dusan Vlahovic’s<\/a> career at Juventus<\/a> hasn’t hit the heights that many expected when he joined the Bianconeri from Fiorentina<\/a> in January 2022 for a whopping \u00a366.6million.<\/p>\n

The Serbian striker has never scored more than 20 goals in a season for Juventus, who’ve been through a crisis period during Vlahovic’s time at the club. The 26-year-old, who’s also struggled with injuries throughout his time in Turin, has often been linked with a move to the Premier League.<\/p>\n

However, there’s talk of Barcelona looking at him as Lewandowski’s potential successor. Those would be big shoes to fill.<\/p>\n
