{"id":458722,"date":"2026-02-04T22:05:07","date_gmt":"2026-02-04T22:05:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/458722\/"},"modified":"2026-02-04T22:05:07","modified_gmt":"2026-02-04T22:05:07","slug":"mike-clevinger-agrees-to-minor-league-contract-with-pirates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/458722\/","title":{"rendered":"Mike Clevinger agrees to minor league contract with Pirates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PITTSBURGH &#8212; Right-hander <a href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/32769\/mike-clevinger\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mike Clevinger<\/a> agreed Wednesday to a minor league contract with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com.au\/mlb\/team\/_\/name\/pit\/pittsburgh-pirates\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Pittsburgh Pirates<\/a> and will attend big league spring training camp.<\/p>\n<p>The 35-year-old is 60-44 with a 3.55 ERA across nine seasons with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com.au\/mlb\/team\/_\/name\/cle\/cleveland-guardians\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cleveland<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com.au\/mlb\/team\/_\/name\/sd\/san-diego-padres\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">San Diego<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com.au\/mlb\/team\/_\/name\/chw\/chicago-white-sox\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Chicago White Sox<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Clevinger has dealt with injuries in recent seasons and struggled with the White Sox last spring after being moved to the bullpen. He bounced back after returning to the rotation with Triple-A Charlotte.
