Nick Diaz\u2019s last UFC comeback attempt was foiled due to undisclosed circumstances, followed by concerning footage of the star fighter that led to him checking into rehab for substance abuse. But after a successful stint in rehab, Diaz appears in great spirits as he plots another return to the Octagon.<\/p>\n
Diaz hasn\u2019t fought since a TKO defeat to UFC Hall of Famer Robbie Lawler at UFC 266. He was supposed to fight Vicente Luque in 2024 before withdrawing due to travel issues ahead of UFC Abu Dhabi<\/a>.<\/p>\n Fight fans are mixed in wanting Diaz to fight again inside the Octagon at age 42. It\u2019s not like before. People are going to see a brand new me.\u201d (h\/t MMA Junkie<\/a>)<\/p>\n Diaz was then asked about his past substance abuse and what\u2019s next in his rehabilitation.<\/p>\n \u201cFor me, I just think that I wouldn\u2019t have made it this far if I thought that there was something that could stop me,\u201d Diaz said.<\/p>\n \u201cThat being the next guy I\u2019m standing in front of or any obstacle. Substance abuse, right or wrong, I\u2019m just very confident that I\u2019m going to do better every year, every day.\u201d<\/p>\n
