The RFL are excited to announce the return of the Women’s Nines Festival in 2026, following the success of last year’s one-day event, which contributed to Wigan Warriors’ most successful and historic season to date.

The 2026 Women’s Nines Festival will take place at Edge Hill University, Ormskirk, on Saturday 2 May and will feature a new competition structure. This year’s festival will include two separate competitions: a Challenge Grade and a Community Grade. The introduction of these grades allows more community teams to get involved, whilst maintaining competitive and enjoyable matches for all participants.

The Challenge Grade will feature teams from across both professional and community clubs, including teams from the Betfred Women’s Super League, Women’s Super League Academies, the National Championship and League 1. The diversity of teams entering will ensure a day of tightly contested matches and fun-filled action!

With the 2026 festival marking the first time in four years that Women’s Super League teams are not required to participate, this presents an exciting opportunity for new and existing teams to cement their place in the history books alongside clubs such as Leeds Rhinos and Wigan Warriors.

Places are limited to 12 Challenge Grade and 8 Community Grade teams, with entries accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability. Like this story, share it…

The RFL are excited to announce the return of the Women’s Nines Festival in 2026, following the success…

[567
64,63,760,85,236485
post-460092","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-rugby","tag-au","tag-australia","tag-rugby","tag-sports","tag-womens-nines-festival-details-confirmed-for-2026
["GET
