In it he reveals that the actress doesn\u2019t constantly train hard, but actually has a very balanced outlook when it comes to working out.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"elk-seasonal\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"1befe414-566b-4902-81f7-3b0dedbceeba-2\">In the voiceover that accompanies the video, Bruno starts by saying: \u201cJess and I have shared a bunch of super impressive and challenging workout moves that kinda flex on the people and let them know she\u2019s a bona fide badass.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>You may like<\/p>\n<p>Want to see the \u201cbadass\u201d in action? She ramps up the workouts to beast mode if she has a work thing where she has to look her best, but most of the time\u2014like now at the start of the new year\u2014she\u2019s busy juggling work life and mom life.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo when that&#8217;s the case, we&#8217;ll hit the weights about twice a week\u2014sometimes three, and sometimes one to be honest\u2014and then she&#8217;ll try and do some Pilates and cardio as well, because she likes but doesn&#8217;t love the weights\u2014and wants to keep it balanced.<\/p>\n<p>During the video, Biel is seen performing a dumbbell complex as Bruno talks. A complex is a type of workout where you perform a number of exercises back-to-back with the same dumbbells, so there\u2019s no chance to rest for the entire round.<\/p>\n<p class=\"newsletter-form__strapline\">Start your week with achievable workout ideas, health tips and wellbeing advice in your inbox.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s the workout, with Biel completing five reps on each side of four exercises.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"elk-watch-jessica-biel-s-dumbbell-complex-workout\"\/>Watch Jessica Biel\u2019s dumbbell complex workout<a id=\"elk-is-it-a-good-workout\"\/>is it a good workout?<\/p>\n<p id=\"614b13df-036c-4c32-988d-0dc22f7863ec\">I asked certified personal trainer <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/katerh_fitness\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/katerh_fitness\/\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Kate Rowe-Ham<\/a>, author of <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/hawk.ly\/m\/the-longevity-solution-by-kate-rowe-ham\/i\/fitandwell-onsite\" target=\"_blank\" data-url=\"https:\/\/hawk.ly\/m\/the-longevity-solution-by-kate-rowe-ham\/i\/fitandwell-onsite\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">The Longevity Solution<\/a> (out Feb. 12, Yellow Kite) what she thought about the workout\u2014as she is also well-versed in helping people juggle work life and mom life<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI love this Jessica Biel workout,\u201d she tells Fit&amp;Well. \u201cThe dumbbell complex training is a really good one for those who are time-poor and only have a small window of opportunity to work out.<\/p>\n<p>You may like<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re basically getting maximum effectiveness for the time you\u2019ve got because this training style gets your heart rate up for a cardio boost and it works multiple muscle groups at once\u2014these compound moves improve bone health, and it\u2019s low impact so it\u2019s better for the joints.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"elk-how-to-make-it-beginner-friendly\"\/>How to make it beginner-friendly<\/p>\n<p id=\"483cc92d-1cdd-42a2-9ebf-89646ce2ab5e\">Even though this isn\u2019t especially intense for Biel, keep in mind that she\u2019s been training with Bruno for about 10 years.<\/p>\n<p>This means she\u2019s executing difficult movements flawlessly\u2014especially the final exercise, a single-leg Romanian deadlift that requires impressive balance and mobility.<\/p>\n<p>Also, on the shoulder press, holding one dumbbell overhead while pressing the other dumbbell is hard because it increases the time your shoulder muscle is under tension.<\/p>\n<p>Want to make it more beginner-friendly?
