{"id":462853,"date":"2026-02-06T19:22:09","date_gmt":"2026-02-06T19:22:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/462853\/"},"modified":"2026-02-06T19:22:09","modified_gmt":"2026-02-06T19:22:09","slug":"mike-conley-expected-to-return-to-minnesota-timberwolves-after-week-of-movement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/462853\/","title":{"rendered":"Mike Conley expected to return to Minnesota Timberwolves after week of movement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Veteran point guard Mike Conley is expected to return to the Minnesota Timberwolves after being traded twice this week, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ShamsCharania\/status\/2019806592544514335\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">NBA insider Shams Charania reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Wolves <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/chicago\/news\/bulls-pistons-timberwolves-trade-kevin-huerter-mike-conley-jr-dario-saric-jaden-ivey\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">sent Conley to the Chicago Bulls<\/a> for cash considerations, and the Bulls then shipped him to the Charlotte Hornets. Charlotte subsequently released the 38-year-old.<\/p>\n<p>Had the Bulls released Conley without trading him a second time, he would not have been eligible to re-sign with the Wolves due to NBA rules.<\/p>\n<p>Conley, who played 44 games for the Wolves this season before the trade, had seen his role reduced in his fourth year with the team. He averaged just 18.5 minutes a game \u2014 about six fewer than last year \u2014 and his points per game were nearly halved.<\/p>\n<p>The Conley trade was the first of two between the Wolves and Bulls this week.
