In protest of Bad Bunny being the Super Bowl halftime performer this year, Turning Point USA has recruited Kid Rock to perform his own concert at halftime as counterprogramming. So, on Friday, \u201cThe View\u201d host Sunny Hostin reminded viewers of some of Kid Rock\u2019s old lyrics that encourage pursuing underage girls.<\/p>\n
During the discussion, Hostin pointed out how many previous Super Bowl halftime performers have not actually been American, including Phil Collins, U2, Coldplay and more, but never faced criticism from conservatives. So, she encouraged everyone to \u201cjust call a thing a thing, it\u2019s just racism.\u201d To take it one further, Hostin highlighted lyrics from \u201cCool, Daddy Cool,\u201d which she said is having a resurgence right now.<\/p>\n
:It includes the following lyrics about underage girls: \u2018young ladies, young ladies, I like them under age. Some say that\u2019s statutory, but I say it\u2019s mandatory,’\u201d Hostin recited. \u201cSo if that\u2019s more American, go for it!\u201d<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, host Alyssa Farah Griffin just chuckled at the conservatives who are insisting Kid Rock is a generational artist.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt the end of the day, like, Kid Rock is a very average artist who has mostly kind of gone past his prime,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
When Sara Haines argued that \u201caverage is really generous,\u201d Farah Griffin agreed, and reminded the audience of Kid Rock\u2019s performance at the Republican National Convention.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd everyone, including our dear First Lady, looks just sort of confused,\u201d she said with a laugh. \u201cLike, it was just like, \u2018What is this that I am watching here?’\u201d<\/p>\n
