Here&#8217;s the full text:<\/p>\n<p>Is the economic outlook good or bad?<\/p>\n<p>If<br \/>\n you talk to businesses, they\u2019re cautiously optimistic. Growth is good,<br \/>\nconsumer spending remains solid, jobs are easy to fill, and productivity<br \/>\n gains are helping control costs.<\/p>\n<p>Talking<br \/>\n to workers, they\u2019re not so sure. You can see this in the latest<br \/>\nsentiment surveys, which show that Americans are expecting fewer jobs to<br \/>\n be available and the unemployment rate to rise.<\/p>\n<p>In<br \/>\n many ways, this disconnect makes sense. We\u2019ve been in a relatively<br \/>\nlow-hiring, low-firing environment for some time. That may persist, but<br \/>\nworkers are aware that things could change quickly, leaving them in a<br \/>\nno-hiring, more-firing labor market. With inflation printing above the<br \/>\nFOMC\u2019s 2 percent goal, this rightly feels precarious.<\/p>\n<p>What<br \/>\n does this mean for policy?
