The opening batter\u2019s knock \u2014 which lifted India to a score of 9-411 from their allotted 50 overs \u2014 essentially single-handedly extinguished England\u2019s hopes of lifting the trophy. Despite an excellent century from Caleb Falconer (115 off 67 balls), England was bowled out for 311 from just under 41 overs, handing India a famous 100-run win at the Harare Sports Club.<\/p>\n
Sooryavanshi, who doesn\u2019t turn 15 until late March, was also named the Player of the Tournament, finishing with 439 runs \u2013 including three 50s to go with his century in the final \u2013 at an average of 62.71.<\/p>\n

Sooryavanshi famously scored 101 off just 38 balls in the IPL in April last year at the age of 14 years and 32 days. But his performance in a massive worldwide tournament away from India has only enhanced is already lofty expectations.<\/p>\n
Sooryavanshi opened India\u2019s first innings after his team won the toss and elected to bat first. By the time his knock was over, India had only just passed the halfway mark of its innings (over 25.3), highlighting the brutal destruction Sooryavanshi had inflicted in such a short space of time.<\/p>\n
Batting with confidence, aggressive flair \u2014 especially against England\u2019s spinners \u2014 and freedom, Sooryavanshi\ufeff\u2019s progression through his innings was rapid. The 14-year-old reached his half-century off 32 balls then took another 23 deliveries to bring up three figures. He then only needed another 16 balls to pass 150.<\/p>\n
The legendary Sachin Tendulkar led the praise for Sooryavanshi and Team India\u2019s achievements.<\/p>\n

Champion India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin labelled Sooryavanshi \u2018s innings as \u201cabsurd\u201d, but added his knock of 68 off 33 balls in the semi-finals shouldn\u2019t be forgotten.<\/p>\n
