AFL star Bailey Smith is set to lose his driver’s licence after reportedly clocking 125km\/h on the dash near his Surf Coast home.<\/p>\n

It’s understood the Cats midfielder was on his way to check on his animals during Victoria’s recent bushfires when he was caught, reports The Herald Sun.<\/p>\n

He raced back to his 5.8-hectare home at Bellbrae, Great Ocean Road, last month.<\/p>\n

Smith is now set to be stripped of his license for the next three months after exceeding his demerit point allocation.<\/p>\n

The star is no stranger to controversy, having found himself in hot water last year when he sparked outrage with a series of social media posts<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Among them was a photo of Smith dressed as Brad Pitt\u2019s character from the 1994 western film Legends of the Fall, hugging captain Patrick Dangerfield, who was dressed as a cowboy from Yellowstone.<\/p>\n

Smith captioned the shot, \u201cor brokeback mountain depends how ya look at it\u201d and added, \u201cthis is what losing a granny does to ya.\u201d<\/p>\n

The reference to the landmark film about a same-sex relationship triggered an immediate backlash, with former AFL player Mitch Brown – who became the first AFL player to come out as bisexual – branding the post offensive.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Fellow Geelong star Max Holmes, dressed as veteran female AFL journalist Caroline Wilson, posed with Smith for another photo, with Smith captioning it \u201cCaro has never looked better\u201d, alongside a suggestive emoji.<\/p>\n
