The Denver Broncos<\/a>‘ season is officially over, and once the Super Bowl concludes this weekend, the offseason will begin. One of the principal stages of the NFL offseason is free agency, and the Broncos<\/a>, who lost 10-7 to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game, will look to upgrade in key spots.<\/p>\n

One position the Broncos\u00a0may\u00a0have to address in free agency is defensive end, as their star end, John Franklin-Myers, is set to become a free agent<\/a> in March, and the team might not be able to afford to re-sign him. ESPN’s<\/a> Matt Bowen has JFM ranked as the 11th-best free agent in the 2026 class.<\/p>\n

“Franklin-Myers lacks the lateral speed and bend to turn pressures into a bunch of sacks from edge alignments,” Matt Bowen wrote for ESPN<\/a>. “But he’s an active inside rusher who can play as a defensive tackle or 5-technique with his 6-foot-4, 288-pound frame. He had 7.5 sacks and 23 pressures this season.”<\/p>\n

If the Broncos are unable to retain JFM, Denver might look to shore up its defensive line depth with new arrivals during this offseason.<\/p>\n
