The Bantamweight division has a new champion after Petr Yan exacted revenge against<\/a> Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 323<\/a>; therefore, \u201cNo Mercy\u201d is now the man with a huge target on his back. There are rumblings of a potential rematch between the two, so the rest of the players in the division are going to have time to make a case for themselves to climb up the ladder and get closer to a title shot. Among them is Bautista, who is currently ranked No. 9<\/a>. Prior to his most recent loss to Umar Nurmagomedov, Bautista was on an impressive eight-fight win streak, which included big wins over Jose Aldo and Patchy Mix. That said, the loss to Nurmagomedov really put a damper on his hope of cracking the Top 5<\/a>. A win over Oliveira may not be the biggest one on his resume, but it\u2019s a step in the right direction either way.<\/p>\n

As for Oliveira, the 30-year-old Brazilian bomber is undefeated inside the Octagon (4-0), winning 12 of his last 13 bouts. One more win could get him into the Top 10<\/a>, but it won\u2019t be a walk in the park trying to get one over Bautista, who has proven to be as scrappy as they come. But, Oliveira has all the tools to get the job done as five of his last eight wins have come by way of (technical) knockout. In Bautista, he will find a willing dance partner who will be more than open to engaging in an all-out standup war. If that\u2019s the case, I do give a slight edge to Oliveira, though that\u2019s not to say Bautista can\u2019t crack his jaw, too. In the end, the fans will be the winners here because I expect this fight to deliver \u2026 even if the rest of the card does not<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A Middleweight bout between Jose Henrique Souza vs. Eric Nolan was set to go down at this event before Nolan withdrew for undisclosed reasons. He was replaced by Nikolay Veretennikov. Weeks later, Souza withdrew \u2014 also for undisclosed reasons \u2014 and was replaced by Niko Price (details here<\/a>), who is currently on a two-fight losing streak. As for Veretennikov, he was last seen losing to Punahele Soriano, his third loss in last four fights inside the Octagon.<\/p>\n

A Heavyweight showdown between Ryan Spann vs. Rizvan Kuniev was scheduled for this event before \u201cSuperman\u201d withdrew for undisclosed reasons and was replaced by fellow heavy hitter, Jailton Almeida, who is coming off a \u201ccontroversial<\/a>\u201d split decision defeat at the hands of Alexander Volkov. As for Kuniev, he is hungry to earn his first UFC win after losing to Curtis Blaydes via split decision in his debut fight last summer.<\/p>\n

Said Nurmagomedov was forced to withdraw from his fight against Javid Basharat because of visa issues and was ultimately replaced by UFC newcomer, Gianni Vazquez. In addition, Uran Satybaldiev withdrew from his fight against Julius Walker and was replaced by Dustin Jacoby, who is coming in on a two-fight win streak. As for Walker, he secured his first win inside the Octagon by defeating Raffael Cerqueira in Aug. 2025.<\/p>\n

Vazquez took the fight against Basharat on just two days notice<\/a>, which is probably why he missed weight<\/a>. Vazquez is currently on a five-fight win streak and has won eight of his last nine outings. The 31-year-old Mexican-born fighter is out to make his mark straight away against Basharat, who is eager for a win after dropping his last two.<\/p>\n

How The \u2018Prelims\u2019 Look:<\/p>\n

Opening the night of fights will be a women\u2019s 135-pound bout between Priscila Cachoeira vs. Klaudia Sygula. Cachoeira is just 1-3 in her last four fights, so she is in need of a win here to get her groove back. As for Sygula, she got her first win inside the Octagon against Irina Alekseeva in her last outing after dropping her promotional debut bout against Melissa Mullins.<\/p>\n

In men\u2019s Bantamweight action, Muin Gafurov \u2014 who also missed weight <\/a>\u2014 will attempt to secure his third straight win when he battles Jakub Wiklacz, who is coming off an impressive upset win over Patchy Mix and is eying his fourth straight win overall.<\/p>\n

Also, Wang Cong and Eduarda Moura both missed weight <\/a>for their women\u2019s Flyweight bout. Cong has won back-to-back fights and is 8-1 overall in her combat career. As for Moura, she amassed a 3-1 record under UFC\u2019s banner, so she is off to a mighty-fine start with the promotion.<\/p>\n

Bruna Brasil vs. Ketlen Souza will throw down in a Strawweight fight on the loaded undercard. Brasil is 3-3 inside the Octagon, alternating wins and losses throughout her run, so she needs to be a bit more consistent with wins. As for Souza, she is on a two-fight losing streak and has not won a fight since 2024.<\/p>\n

Alex Morono has lost three straight fights and is just 1-4 in his last five outings, so he needs a win pretty badly here when he goes up against Daniil Donchenko in a Welterweight bout. Donchenko is on a five-fight win streak and recently won his UFC debut, defeating Rodrigo Sezinando via first round technical knockout five months ago. Should Morono lose his fourth in a row he will likely be getting his walking papers.<\/p>\n

In the co-main event of the evening, Albazi will lock horns with Horiguchi in a pivotal Flyweight fight that has major title implications. Albazi is currently ranked No. 6<\/a> in the division, but is coming off a tough loss to Brandon Moreno, which snapped his seven-fight win streak. Horiguchi, meanwhile, is unbeaten in his last seven fights and made a triumphant return to the Octagon by submitting Tagir Ulanbekov back in Sept. 2025 (highlights here<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Marc-Andre Barriault vs. Michal Oleksiejczuk<\/a> will engage in fisticuffs at 185 pounds in a bout between two men going in opposite directions. Oleksiejczuk is currently on a two-fight win streak \u2014 which was preceded by a three-fight skid. Now that he has turned it around, he is aiming for his first three-fight win streak in six years against a man who has lost four of his last five outings inside the Octagon and is coming off a loss to Shara Magomedov.<\/p>\n

Matchups such as these simply drive me crazy since one is trending up and the other down.<\/p>\n

Jean Matsumoto vs. Farid Basharat will thrown down in what could be a show-stealing Bantamweight affair. Matsumoto is coming off a win over Miles Johns, which got him back on track after losing to Rob Font. Prior to his defeat to Font, he had won his first 16 fights of his professional career. As for Basharat, he is undefeated (14-0), which includes going 5-0 to kickoff his Octagon tenure.<\/p>\n
