{"id":46492,"date":"2025-08-05T23:53:10","date_gmt":"2025-08-05T23:53:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/46492\/"},"modified":"2025-08-05T23:53:10","modified_gmt":"2025-08-05T23:53:10","slug":"fremantle-dockers-legend-matthew-pavlich-named-sydney-swans-new-chief-executive-in-football-shock","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/46492\/","title":{"rendered":"Fremantle Dockers legend Matthew Pavlich named Sydney Swans\u2019 new chief executive in football shock"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">Fremantle legend Matthew Pavlich has been revealed as the Sydney Swans\u2019 new chief executive.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">The Dockers\u2019 greatest-ever goal-kicker has been named as a replacement for former Swans boss Tom Harley, who was appointed the AFL\u2019s chief operating officer earlier this season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">Pavlich has been working as a commentator and news presenter since his retirement at the end of the 2016 season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">\u201cIt is a big decision to uproot the family and bring them across the country to Sydney, but I am thrilled to be offered,\u201d he told Channel 9 Perth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ix6vwn-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">He had been linked to the AFL Players Association job left vacant by Paul Marsh.
