While Fuller continues to battle for a spot in the Dolphins back-line, Connor Tracey has been able to cement the Bulldogs’ fullback role as his own and has been a valuable piece of the club’s spine since arriving in 2024.

However, this hasn’t stopped reports from emerging that the Bulldogs are interested in fullbacks from rival clubs, such as Jahream Bula, further adding doubt over Tracey’s long-term future in Belmore.

“Yeah, for sure, that’s the goal,” Tracey, who is off-contract at the end of 2026, said when questioned about his future and whether or not he’d like to remain at the Belmore-based side.

“There’s no pressure. I’m always wanting to play good no matter what the contract situation is.

“I’m looking to play for my club and my teammates, so that’s what I’m focused (on).”

Keen to extend with the Bulldogs, reports emerged in 2025 that the club were interested in extending him on a long-term extension after the retention of Cameron Ciraldo, Phil Gould and Stephen Crichton.

However, there has been no update on talks between the two parties, and he remains off-contract at the end of the 2026 season.

With the Perth Bears and PNG Chiefs lurking in the shadows, a decision is likely to be made sooner rather than later, but Tracey is fully focused on the upcoming Round 1 clash against the Dragons at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

“Pre-season is tough, but at the same time I’m tired of being in the water,” he added.

“It’s pretty cool to take the game over there and (we) go over there with a job to do, so it’s going to be a cool experience.

“You definitely review last season and the last few games and where they went wrong and sort of focus on them for the first part of pre-season.

“But once that’s underway, you sort of inter-build combinations and build how you sort of play.”

Star NRL fullbacks Connor Tracey and Trai Fuller have addressed their playing futures as they prepare for the…

[568
64,63,761,762,158,85
post-469199","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-nrl","tag-au","tag-australia","tag-national-rugby-league","tag-nationalrugbyleague","tag-nrl","tag-sports
["GET
