Teenage MMA star Adrian Lee is targeting a first-round stoppage when he meets Japanese veteran Shozo Isojima in a lightweight clash at ONE Fight Night 40 on Friday, February 13, at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

The 19-year-old Singapore-American reflected on his setback against ONE Welterweight Submission Grappling World Champion Tye Ruotolo last year. Both Adrian Lee and Isojima share the distinction of losing their most recent bouts to the American grappling kingpin.

Adrian Lee brings a 3-1 record into this lightweight showdown. The youngest member of the famed Lee family won his first three ONE Championship appearances via submission before falling to Ruotolo in September 2025.

Looking back at his September defeat, Lee acknowledged the difficulty of facing the highest-caliber opponent of his young career. The Prodigy Training Center product admitted Ruotolo’s skills provided a reality check about competition at the sport’s highest levels.

“That fight with Tye, it was a rough one. When I was in that ring with Tye, it was kind of new. Tye was definitely the highest caliber opponent I’ve fought so far, and I think it was definitely a little bit of a shocker,” Lee stated.

The loss marked the first setback of the Singaporean-American’s professional career. Ruotolo submitted the teenage fighter in the second round, unleashing the championship-level grappling that makes him one of submission grappling’s most dangerous competitors.

Adrian Lee Analyzes Japanese Veteran’s Style

Adrian Lee identified Isojima’s resiliency and grinding pressure as primary threats. “The Phenom” believes his ability to mix striking, wrestling, and grappling provides competitive advantage over the NTRUST representative.

“I think his biggest strengths are probably his resiliency and his ability to just grind [opponents down]. And then for weaknesses, I’ve seen him get touched up a lot in his fights. I feel like my biggest strength as an MMA fighter is the ability to mix it up. I’ve kind of been able to just flow between the striking, the wrestling, and the grappling,” Lee explained.

The Prodigy Training Center product’s first three victories came via submission, showcasing the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and wrestling pedigree inherited from his siblings. Brother Christian Lee holds two ONE MMA World Titles, while sister Angela Lee is a former ONE Women’s Atomweight MMA World Champion.

Teenage Star Adrian Lee Predicts Ground-and-Pound Stoppage

Adrian Lee boldly predicted a first-round finish while outlining his preferred method of victory. The teenage sensation emphasized his intention to blend striking and grappling before securing a TKO stoppage on the canvas.

“The way I see this fight playing out is that I get the finish in round one. That’s always my plan, always my priority going into any of my fights, but I believe that I’m just going to take whatever comes first. I’m going to work my striking and take him to the ground. Probably a TKO finish,” the Hawaii-based star declared.

The clash of styles promises compelling action as Lee’s well-rounded skill set meets Isojima’s grinding pressure. Both fighters seek redemption following their defeats to Ruotolo, creating additional motivation beyond simply securing victories on ONE Championship’s global stage.

ONE Fight Night 40 airs live on Prime Video on Friday, February 13. The action begins at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. The event is free for all Amazon Prime subscribers in the U.S. and Canada.

Teenage MMA star Adrian Lee is targeting a first-round stoppage when he meets Japanese veteran Shozo Isojima in…

[570
64,63,786,785,85
post-470335","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-mma","tag-au","tag-australia","tag-fighting","tag-mma","tag-sports
["GET
