Liam Paro says he is delighted he\u2019ll dodge \u2018dodgy\u2019 UK judging after securing home advantage for his shot at Lewis Crocker\u2019s<\/a> IBF welterweight world title.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Australians\u2019 No Limit team won purse bids for the sanctioned world title bout, meaning the Champion will travel Down Under to make a first defence of his strap.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The former light welterweight world champ is relishing the chance to enjoy home comforts and believes having the fight in Australia will help him become a household name in his native land.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Brian Peters-mentored boxer also expressed happiness at not having to worry about what he thinks can be unpredictable\u00a0British fight scoring.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Matchroom and Jamie Conlan, Crocker\u2019s manager, had the SSE Arena lined up for the fight if they had succeeded in the purse battle \u2013 and the challenger is happy he isn\u2019t Belfast-bound.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was confident I could win \u2013 I\u2019ve travelled before and done it. But to have it on Australian ground is way better \u2013 I want to be a household name here \u2013 and touching on the judging over in the UK, it\u2019s pretty dodgy. We\u2019ve seen shows recently where even the commentary doesn\u2019t even know \u2013 if even the commentary\u2019s not on the same page, that\u2019s not good,\u201d he told Boxingscene<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cBut with the IBF I was confident all I needed was a fair shake and I\u2019m confident I can get it done, but of course I\u2019m a lot happier. I\u2019m a lot more excited and a lot more motivated to have it here.\u201d<\/p>\n

Crocker could argue he may not get a fair crack of the whip when he put his title on the line in Australia. However, Paro says Crocker shouldn\u2019t ave travel concerns.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s international judges \u2013 we don\u2019t have Aussie judges here,\u201d he adds.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re picked from all around the world, so the IBF are good at picking judges. We\u2019ve both got a fair shake \u2013 the best man\u2019s gonna win on the night. Whoever comes up and shows up and executes their game plan to the best is gonna win.\u201d<\/p>\n

Paro has reason\u2019s outside of his judging fears for being elated with the chance to win another world title on home soil.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWords can\u2019t describe how excited I am. I\u2019ve been saying since before I was with No Limit how much I want to bring big titles to Australia; how much I want to win titles in front of the Aussie people. We\u2019re diehard fight fans and diehard sports fans. We always have to travel to take those big opportunities but now it\u2019s here. It\u2019s right in front of me. <\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s only one job left and that\u2019s for me to perform on fight night and win that strap and join the likes of Jeff Fenech in being the only Aussie-born multi-division world champion. To sit at the same table as him, I\u2019m gonna make it a reality. I\u2019m very confident I can do so.
