Malaysia\u2019s Jihin \u201cShadow Cat\u201d Radzuan<\/a> returns to ONE Championship\u2019s global stage, fired up to prove her recent setbacks were nothing more than temporary speed bumps.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old welcomes undefeated Brazilian star Gabriela \u201cGabi\u201d Fujimoto<\/a> to the organization in a pivotal atomweight MMA clash at ONE Fight Night 40: Buntan vs. Hemetsberger II on Prime Video<\/a>, which broadcasts live in U.S. primetime from Bangkok\u2019s Lumpinee Stadium this Friday, February 13.<\/p>\n

Jihin, a Wushu World Champion, steps back into action in search of her first win since she submitted Jenelyn \u201cThe Graceful\u201d Olsim<\/a> at ONE Friday Fights 35<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Since then, \u201cShadow Cat\u201d has hit a pair of setbacks, falling to Chihiro Sawada<\/a> and Macarena Aragon<\/a>. While those losses tested her resolve, they also forced her to reflect on areas of improvement and increased her hunger for victory.<\/p>\n

Another difficult test<\/a> awaits the Malaysian atomweight, but she made it clear she\u2019s ready for a tough night\u2019s work against the 22-year-old promotional newcomer:<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve watched some of her fights, and I believe she\u2019s a well-rounded fighter. She\u2019s undefeated as well. 7-0. I think she\u2019s more of a striker, but I\u2019m not looking down on her grappling game. I think this is going to be a very exciting match.\u201d<\/p>\n

But Jihin has no intention of playing the supporting role in someone else\u2019s story, especially when redemption is within reach.<\/p>\n

To make sure she gets her hand raised this time, \u201cShadow Cat\u201d has relocated her camp closer to home, opting to train at Foxgloves Fight Gym in Singapore \u2013 a short commute from her family home in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.<\/p>\n

The technical refinements and adjustments made during this camp have given Jihin renewed confidence heading into this matchup:<\/p>\n

\u201cFor this camp, I\u2019ve been focusing a lot more on [the technical aspects] of my striking \u2013 how to move out, when to step in, and how to work on a lot of angles and stuff like that. You all will see it on February 13.<\/p>\n

\u201cOtherwise, I\u2019ve been feeling great [throughout] this preparation with fight camp. I also feel good with my weight and everything else.\u201d<\/p>\n

Beyond the upgrades, Jihin carries something deeper into this contest \u2013 the burning desire to redeem herself after consecutive losses and prove she\u2019s still a top threat in the women\u2019s atomweight MMA division.\u00a0<\/p>\n

And if that means ruining Fujimoto\u2019s birthday<\/a> in front of the roaring crowd inside the historic Lumpinee Stadium, so be it.<\/p>\n

The Malaysian said:<\/p>\n

\u201cI really want to redeem myself in this fight. I feel very confident. Every single time, I bring the same confidence in the ring. But we\u2019ll see what\u2019s going to happen in the ring.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s going to be different this time. I think fans can expect a big and significant change in my striking and everything. I\u2019m ready to leave everything in the ring and perform at my very best.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jihin Lists Her Main Advantage Over Fujimoto<\/p>\n

While Jihin Radzuan acknowledges Gabriela Fujimoto\u2019s threat level and spotless record, she also recognizes specific advantages that could prove decisive at ONE Fight Night 40.<\/p>\n

One of the most significant factors working in the Malaysian\u2019s favor is her familiarity with competing inside the ring.<\/p>\n

For Fujimoto, this will be her first time fighting inside the squared circle under MMA rules \u2013 a transition that presents unique challenges most athletes underestimate until they\u2019re in the moment.<\/p>\n

Jihin explained:<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been fighting MMA in the ring for quite some time right now, so I think I will have better control in the ring. With the ropes, there are a lot of disadvantages and advantages.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing in a ring is not as tight as the fence, so you lose a lot of advantage there if your back is on the ropes. But on the fence, it\u2019s more like you can work yourself out of trouble with takedowns or something else.\u201d<\/p>\n

While she sees clear advantages, Jihin expects the KO Squad representative to come out guns blazing when the two collide just hours before Valentine\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n

Both fighters want nothing but a triumph. Fujimoto is seeking the perfect debut and birthday celebration, while the Johor Bahru native is hunting redemption and her 10th career victory.<\/p>\n

As such, \u201cShadow Cat\u201d envisions two elite atomweights ready to produce fireworks on the promotion\u2019s second U.S. primetime card of 2026:<\/p>\n

\u201cI need this win very badly. But I can assure you, both of us are going to give our best.
