{"id":471638,"date":"2026-02-10T23:52:07","date_gmt":"2026-02-10T23:52:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/471638\/"},"modified":"2026-02-10T23:52:07","modified_gmt":"2026-02-10T23:52:07","slug":"zeiss-launches-aatma-prime-t1-5-cine-lenses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/471638\/","title":{"rendered":"ZEISS launches Aatma prime T1.5 cine lenses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ZEISS debuted the Aatma set of nine full frame T1.5 cinema primes (18mm, 25mm, 35mm, 40mm, 50mm, 65mm, 85mm, 100mm, and 135mm) at the BSC Expo. <\/p>\n<p>The lenses are inspired by characteristics of classic ZEISS lenses of the 20th century.\u00a0The name \u201cAatma\u201d was derived from the Sanskrit word meaning \u201cinnermost essence,\u201d \u201cself,\u201d or \u201csoul\u201d. Zeiss says the lenses offer \u201csoftly painted skin texture with reduced contrast, smooth and vibrant focus transitions between planes, and a rich bokeh with a subtle soap bubble effect.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The lenses retain the form factor, size, weight, and operability of ZEISS\u2019 current premium cine lenses, offering eXtended Data (XD) technology and are full integration with the ZEISS CinCraft ecosystem. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith Aatma, we wanted to give cinematographers an expressive and characterful choice within the ZEISS offering,\u201d says ZEISS senior product manager cinema Jeanfre Fachon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOver the years, we have come to acknowledge how much some of our legacy lens lines are still appreciated. But instead of simply remaking them, we looked at their most appealing characteristics and drew inspiration to incorporate into a new optical design.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cExtensive positive feedback on ergonomics meant there was no need to reinvent the wheel\u2014only to adapt what is already known and trusted to work seamlessly with Aatma\u2019s optical design.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The nine Aatma lenses are available as a complete set or individually.
