WBO and Ring Magazine super lightweight title holder Shakur Stevenson expressed doubt that former UFC star Jon Jones could succeed in boxing.<\/p>\n
Streamer Adin Ross asked Terence Crawford and Shakur Stevenson in a Tuesday livestream on his YouTube channel<\/a> whether they thought Jones would “dominate in boxing.”<\/p>\n “Hell no,” Stevenson responded.<\/p>\n Ross then asked about Ilia Topuria, to which Stevenson answered: “Tell him to come fight me. I don’t care. Tell him to come fight me.”<\/p>\n Crawford added, “UFC is good for what they do, and we’re good for what we do. You’ve got to think, if I can’t whoop you with my hands, I could kick you, I could take you down. It’s a whole different mental capacity than just kicking and punching.”<\/p>\n Stevenson moved up one weight class to 138 pounds in order to claim his WBO super lightweight title by defeating Teofimo Lopez Jr. on Jan. 31.<\/p>\n The WBC announced<\/a> on Feb. 5 that Stevenson had been stripped of his lightweight title due to the win. Stevenson, who had held the WBC title since 2023, criticized<\/a> the organization’s decision on social media.<\/p>\n Jones, who weighed in<\/a> around 237 pounds for his last KO\/TKO of Sipe Miocic in November 2024, confirmed<\/a> in November that he had rejected a chance to fight Tom Aspinall.
