Gold and silver prices in your city on August 5: Gold prices sre impacted by Donald Trump’s tariffs uncertainty and a softer United States Dollar<\/a> (USD).<\/p>\n

Experts feel that gold and silver continue to maintain their safe haven position and investors can make tthese bets to safeguard their portfolios in volatile markets.<\/p>\n

Over the past 20 years, gold prices have skyrocketed by an impressive 1,200 per cent from \u20b97,638 in 2005 to over \u20b91,00,000 in 2025 (till June), and delivered positive returns in 16 of these years. Year-to-date (YTD), gold prices have risen 31 per cent, with consistent RECord highs solidifying its position among 2025\u2019s top-performing asset classes and a reliable<\/a> hedge.<\/p>\n

Further, silver has also proved resilient. Prices have held above the \u20b91 lakh\/kg mark for the past three week. Over the past 20 years (2005-2025), the metal<\/a> has gained a solid 668.84 per cent.<\/p>\n

The MCX<\/a> gold index was at \u20b91,00,900\/10 gm at 6.20 am on August 6, the official website showed. Meanwhile, MCX silver prices were at \u20b91,12,407\/kg, it showed.<\/p>\n

Further, 24-carat gold was priced at \u20b91,01,180\/10 gm, according to data on the Indian Bullion Association (IBA) at 6.20 am on August 6. Further, 22-carat gold was priced at \u20b992,748\/10 gms. Silver prices today are at \u20b91,12,760\/kg (Silver 999 Fine), as per the IBA website.<\/p>\n
