Trump on Monday railed against Canada<\/a> by threatening it over a bridge<\/a> and then warning that China wanted to \u201cterminate\u201d hockey in Canada and \u201cpermanently eliminate the Stanley Cup.\u201d<\/p>\n

The president\u2019s bizarre comments left Kimmel baffled.<\/p>\n

\u201cDid he get hit in the brain with a hockey puck or something? I mean, seriously. China is gonna ban hockey in Canada?\u201d he said. \u201cWe got a code orange demental emergency going on here right now. He\u2019s gone. He\u2019s totally gone.\u201d <\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s threats left Kimmel with so many questions. <\/p>\n

\u201cHow would China ban hockey in Canada? Would they take all the hockey sticks, make \u2019em into chopsticks?\u201d he wondered. \u201cAnd why would they ban hockey in Canada? What purpose would that serve? I think you might need to give this one a little bit more thought.\u201d <\/p>\n

He said maybe Trump has been watching \u201cHeated Rivalry,\u201d the HBO Max romance about gay hockey players, \u201cand isn\u2019t sure where to put those feelings he hasn\u2019t experienced before.\u201d<\/p>\n

The bridge at the heart of Trump\u2019s latest complaint is set to connect Windsor, Ontario, and Detroit, Michigan. It was financed by Canada and is called the Gordie Howe International Bridge, named for the Canadian hockey player who spent most of his career with the Detroit Red Wings. <\/p>\n

\u201cCome on, Canada, you know how this works,\u201d Kimmel said. \u201cPull out the Sharpie, cross out the \u2018Gordie Howe,\u2019 write in the \u2018Donald Trump,\u2019 and everybody can relax, all right?\u201d <\/p>\n
