History could repeat itself on Thursday night if a West Aussie ticketholder manages to set off the whopping $80 million Powerball jackpot.<\/p>\n
In preparation for the mega draw, Lotterywest has revealed some statistics and facts so players are full-bottle ahead of purchasing tickets.<\/p>\n
THE NUMBERS TO PICK <\/p>\n
While Lotto is ultimately a game of chance where the balls roll out at random each game, the statistics show there are some numbers that seem to be luckier than others.<\/p>\n
The most frequently drawn winning numbers from the main barrel are 7, 9, 11 and 17, and 2, and 4 for the Powerball.<\/p>\n
The not so lucky numbers from the main barrel are 31, 26 and 13, with the least frequently drawn Powerball digits being 8 and 12.<\/p>\n
WA\u2019S WINNING HISTORY<\/p>\n
WA\u2019s biggest Powerball win on record was when a group of 55 gym buddies from the northern suburbs claimed the $80m jackpot in December 2021.<\/p>\n
The last time Powerball jackpotted to $80m was in September 2025 when a Peel woman took home a hefty $20m slice of the division one pie.<\/p>\n
More recently, a Pilbara grandfather scored $10m in January, marking the first WA Powerball win for 2026.<\/p>\n
Last year Powerball produced four West Aussie division one winners, which was the most annual Powerball jackpot wins for the State since 2016.<\/p>\n
HOW WA LIKES TO PLAY<\/p>\n
Powerpik 7, Slikpik 12 and Slikpik 18 are the favourite ticket types among Sandgropers.<\/p>\n
To secure the jackpot prize, a ticket must match all seven winning numbers plus the all-important Powerball.<\/p>\n
This is where the Powerpik slip comes in. It provides the winning Powerball number which is needed to secure the jackpot aswell as five of the other divisions.<\/p>\n
Lotterywest spokesperson Zoe Wender encourages players wanting in on the draw to team up with their mates and purchase a syndicate slip.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt would be fantastic to see another group of players share a life-changing prize just like the 55 women and their families who have no doubt been making the most of their shared $80 million prize over the past four years,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cPlaying as a group by purchasing a syndicate ticket is a great way to play when jackpots reach these heights and means players can share the cost of a ticket and possibly the joy of a win with family, friends or workmates.<\/p>\n
\u201cSyndicates can be arranged in-store and if you don\u2019t have a group to play with, you can join a syndicate that has already been set up.\u201d<\/p>\n
