Triple premiership Tiger Nathan Broad has laughed off claims it\u2019ll be \u201cbruise free football\u201d when WA takes on Victoria in the AFL Origin game on Saturday<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Amid plenty of banter between the two sides heading into the return of the state pride clash, Broad is adamant no player will take a backward step.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s risks every day at training, there\u2019s risks in intraclub games \u2013 there\u2019s risk at the end of the day, it\u2019s a game of football,\u201d Broad told reporters,<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re representing our state. No one is going to take our foot off.<\/p>\n

\u201cTwenty-eight years or something since the last Origin \u2013 there\u2019s lots of commentary, \u2018players are going to take it easy, bruise free football\u2019 \u2013 but that\u2019s not how we\u2019re going about it.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s got to be all in, and we\u2019re all in.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll see first bounce on Saturday.\u201d<\/p>\n

It was a sentiment echoed by WA teammate Brad Hill, who said he was pumped to represent his state.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that\u2019s an awesome concept,\u201d the Saints star said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve missed it for so long.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re very excited to put it back on the big stage.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think there\u2019s a little bit of tension, a bit more on the line \u2026 A bit more edginess around.<\/p>\n

\u201cTheir team on paper is pretty packed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Broad, who joins a WA defence end led by the likes of Giant Sam Taylor, Hawk Tom Barrass and Bulldog Rory Lobb, said he was \u201cextremely honoured\u201d to be selected for Saturday\u2019s clash.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a country boy \u2013 never got to represent WA in the 18s. I was in the squad but never actually got to pull on the guernsey,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo do it now, it\u2019s something I\u2019m extremely proud of.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not getting any younger \u2013 it\u2019s something I\u2019ll cherish to have on my resume.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a proud moment to represent my family and obviously the state.\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked who would get the tough task of taking on Victorian Sam Darcy, Broad could only laugh as he said \u201cnot me, that\u2019s for sure\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cGlad I\u2019ve got Sammy Taylor, Barrass \u2013 it\u2019ll be one of them I\u2019d have thought,\u201d he shared.<\/p>\n

\u201cRory Lobb is back there as well.<\/p>\n
