Asked to expand upon the \u2018curious\u2019 comment, Postecoglou said: \u201cIt\u2019s real curious in terms of – what are they trying to build? <\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019ve built an unbelievable stadium, unbelievable training facilities. But when you look at the expenditure particularly you know in their wages structure, they\u2019re not a big club. I saw that because when we were trying to sign players, we weren\u2019t in the market for those players. <\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019re always there or there about (on transfer fees but there\u2019s a cap on wages).<\/p>\n
\u201cAt the end of my first year when we finished fifth – we had to sign Premier League ready players but finishing fifth that year didn\u2019t get us Champions League. We ended up signing Dom Solanke … and three teenagers.\u201d<\/p>\n
He later said: \u201cTottenham as a club were saying we\u2019re one of the big boys. And the reality is I don\u2019t think they are, in terms of my experience over the last two years.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen Arsenal need players, they\u2019ll spend 100 million on Declan Rice. I don\u2019t see Tottenham doing that.\u201d<\/p>\n
Postecoglou also proclaimed if he had Harry Kane at his disposal during his tenure they would\u2019ve finished in the Champions League spots.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen you walk into Tottenham, what you see everywhere is \u2018to dare is to do\u2019. It\u2019s everywhere. And yet their actions are almost the antithesis of that, right?\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think what they didn\u2019t realise that to actually win, you\u2019ve got to take some risks at some point. And that\u2019s the DNA of the club.\u201d<\/p>\n

Postecgolou argued even players coming into the club had a lack of belief they could actually succeed at Tottenham.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat was the thing I was trying to break. And you know, my whole statement about winning things in the second year – I was doing that for the club because no-one internally would be would dare say that because they were just scared,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019ve been close a few times and oh no – even I remember the day of the Europa final. By that stage the players were brilliant, you know, and I knew we\u2019d win that day. I was just convinced the path we\u2019d taken, everyone in the sort of hotel was really calm and I remember it was one of the few times actually Daniel (Levy) came in and we had a coffee in the morning.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd he said everyone\u2019s really relaxed, even he was, and the only thing he said to me which was bizarre as a motivational point – he said something like \u2018Oh, you know what?
