Ange Postecoglou\u2019s two former English Premier League<\/a> clubs have sacked their managers on the same day \u2014 the first departure announced just before he walked into a podcast studio.<\/p>\n

The Australian has been out of work since being let go by Nottingham Forest just weeks into his tenure earlier this season.<\/p>\n

He rushed into that job after being dumped by Tottenham in the aftermath of last season\u2019s UEFA Europa League title triumph.<\/p>\n

But now both Spurs and Forest are on the lookout for new bosses, with Postecoglou\u2019s replacements failing to turn around their respective fortunes.<\/p>\n

Thomas Frank was the first to go in the wake of a 2-1 loss to Newcastle on Tuesday, leaving Spurs just five points clear of the relegation zone.<\/p>\n

\u201cThomas was appointed in June 2025, and we have been determined to give him the time and support needed to build for the future together,\u201d Spurs said in a statement on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cHowever, results and performances have led the board to conclude that a change at this point in the season is necessary.\u201d<\/p>\n

The news that Frank had been let go emerged on the same morning Postecoglou was due to sit down with Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher, Jill Scott, Ian Wright, and Roy Keane for an episode of The Overlap.<\/p>\n

A teaser showed Postecoglou arriving with a smile on his face \u2014 \u201csome timing, hey,\u201d he says \u2014 before being asked about Frank, with his answer cut off ahead of the full release.<\/p>\n

Hours later, Sean Dyche became the third manager to be sacked by Forest this year after Postecoglou and Nuno Espirito Santo.<\/p>\n

Dyche, in charge for just 114 days, was relieved of his duties following a goalless draw with bottom-side Wolverhampton on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Forest\u2019s failure to convert any of their numerous chances against Wolves left them just three points clear of the relegation zone.<\/p>\n

\u201cNottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that Sean Dyche has been relieved of his duties as head coach,\u201d the club said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe would like to thank Sean and his staff for their efforts during their time at the club and we wish them the best of luck for the future.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will be making no further comment at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Forest finished seventh in the Premier League under Nuno Espirito Santo last season, missing out on a Champions League spot after a poor end to the campaign but securing European football for the first time since 1995-96.<\/p>\n

Nuno signed a new three-year deal at the City Ground in June 2025, but was sacked in September after a breakdown in his relationship with owner Evangelos Marinakis.<\/p>\n

Postecoglou, who already had an existing relationship with Marinakis, was swiftly brought in but lasted only 40 days.<\/p>\n
