British disco<\/a> queen Sophie Ellis-Bextor arrived in Perth on Thursday afternoon and found time for some vintage shopping before her concert in the evening.<\/p>\n

The 46-year-old noughties pop star has been touring Australia this month, performing in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane before carving up Northbridge\u2019s Ice Cream Factory precinct on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The Murder on the Dancefloor hitmaker took to social media, announcing her arrival in the State and was perhaps searching for a last-minute costume in the heart of Fremantle<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ellis-Bextor shared a photo of herself trying on some vintage clothing she had discovered at Vintage on High.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve run out of space in my luggage, but I can\u2019t stop vintage hunting. It\u2019s too good,\u201d she said in the Instagram post.<\/p>\n

Achieving success in the early 2000s, Ellis-Bextor never quite pressed pause on her music career, though made a welcome return to the mainstream when her meteoric hit Murder on the Dancefloor was featured in the 2023 film Saltburn.<\/p>\n

It was then covered by Aussie indie band Royel Otis, and remixed countless times, forcing the star\u2019s name back up the global charts and into the hearts of a new generation of fans.<\/p>\n

While she\u2019ll be winding back the clock with her mix of 80s synth pop and disco tunes on Thursday night, the London-born artist will unveil singles Dolce Vita and Taste from her eighth studio album Perimenopop.<\/p>\n

Released in October, the album celebrates happiness and her triumphant return to disco pop.<\/p>\n

On the day of her album\u2019s release, she reflected on the external factors that shaped her career and why it felt like the right moment to release new tunes.<\/p>\n

\u201cSometimes there\u2019s a sprinkle of serendipity that really ties a creative project together. Releasing Perimenopop as autumn arrives and the leaves change colour is absolutely perfect and it feels so right,\u201d she wrote on social media.<\/p>\n

\u201cPop \u2014 I\u2019ve always loved you, but as the seasons change you\u2019ve really allowed me to celebrate the things that matter to me.\u201d<\/p>\n
