Chestertown, MD\u00a0– The Washington College\u00a0women’s tennis team will\u00a0open up\u00a0its\u00a0spring season with a non-conference matchup against Catholic University\u00a0inside the Johnson Fitness Center\u00a0at 1:00 PM\u00a0on February 14th.\u00a0 \u00a0 Key Matches:\u00a0

\nThe\u00a0Shorewomen\u00a0ended the 2025 season as the fourth seed\u00a0based on the\u00a0regular season standings.\u00a0They faced Dickinson in their first-round playoff\u00a0match but\u00a0unfortunately\u00a0fell 4-2. The\u00a0Shorewomen\u00a0had two wins in the fall 2025 season, a 5-2 win against Albright and a 5-2 win against Virginia Wesleyan\u00a0where the\u00a0Shorewomen\u00a0swept the doubles matches with Eva Kading<\/a> and Soleil Namunyola<\/a>\u00a0securing the win at No. 1.\u00a0\u00a0

\nReturning for the\u00a0Shorewomen:\u00a0
\nSeniors, Kading and\u00a0Namunyola\u00a0return for their final year leading the\u00a0Shorewomen. The pair earned All-Centennial Conference First Team honors in doubles with\u00a0Namunyola\u00a0earning second team honors on the singles side.\u00a0Fellow senior, Isabella Sorhegui<\/a>\u00a0also returns for the\u00a0Shorewomen\u00a0after leading the team in wins with 21.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n“We\u00a0couldn’t\u00a0be more excited about the upcoming season!\u00a0\u00a0We’ve\u00a0been building towards this year for a while\u00a0now\u00a0and we finally have the depth, experience, and ability to compete in our\u00a0very competitive\u00a0conference.\u00a0\u00a0Once\u00a0again\u00a0we will be led by Soleil, Eva, and Isabella who have been the pillars of our team for the last\u00a0four\u00a0years.\u00a0\u00a0But we also have\u00a0a very talented\u00a0group of\u00a0underclassmen\u00a0who I know will also be huge contributors.”\u00a0<\/p>\n
\nAfter the\u00a0Shorewomen\u00a0open up\u00a0their season against Catholic, they will face\u00a0visiting\u00a0Stevens the very next day. They will travel to Texas to take on Schreiner and Southwestern during Spring Break. The\u00a0Shorewomen\u00a0will face back-to-back ranked opponents on April 7th\u00a0and 10th\u00a0as they take on #37 Haverford and #39 Mary Washington, both at home.
