Starring <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/hannah-einbinder\/\" id=\"auto-tag_hannah-einbinder\" data-tag=\"hannah-einbinder\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hannah Einbinder<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/gillian-anderson\/\" id=\"auto-tag_gillian-anderson\" data-tag=\"gillian-anderson\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Gillian Anderson<\/a>, the film is set for theatrical release via Mubi on August 7. Along with the date announcement, two first look images from the film were released.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tPer the press release, the film has a meta premise: \u201cAfter years of slapdash sequels and waning fandom, the Camp Miasma slasher franchise is handed over to an enthusiastic young director for resurrection. But when she visits the original movie\u2019s star, a now-reclusive actress shrouded in mystery, the two women fall into a blood-soaked world of desire, fear, and delirium.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe film also will also continue Schoenbrun\u2019s \u201cbody of work shaped by themes of trans identity and queer horror,\u201d per the press release.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe cast also includes Amanda Fix, Arthur Conti, Eva Victor, Zach Cherry, Sarah Sherman, Patrick Fischler, Dylan Baker, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Quintessa Swindell, Kevin McDonald and Jack Haven. Plan B produced the film, which Mubi financed. The film is set to be released in North America, Latin America, U.K., Ireland, Germany, Austria, Benelux, Spain, Italy, Turkey, India, Australia and New Zealand. The Match Factory is handling remaining worldwide sales. Executive producer Daniel Bekerman from Scythia Films provided local production services.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIn addition to the new film, Schoenbrun is also publishing their debut novel, \u201cPublic Access Afterworld,\u201d this year via Hogarth.
