{"id":478668,"date":"2026-02-14T03:29:08","date_gmt":"2026-02-14T03:29:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/478668\/"},"modified":"2026-02-14T03:29:08","modified_gmt":"2026-02-14T03:29:08","slug":"aussie-star-min-woo-lee-surges-into-contention-at-20m-pebble-beach-pro-am-as-big-guns-lurk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/478668\/","title":{"rendered":"Aussie star Min Woo Lee surges into contention at $20m Pebble Beach pro-am as big guns lurk"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Akshay Bhatia has joined Ryo Hisatsune at the top of the PGA Tour Pebble Beach Pro-Am leaderboard on 15-under par, with a resurgent Rickie Fowler and Australian Min Woo Lee among those hot on their heels.<\/p>\n<p>California-born Bhatia scored 64, with back-to-back bogey-free rounds to join overnight leader Hisatsune at the pinnacle of the $US 20 million ($A28 million) event <\/p>\n<p>It comes off the back of 24-year-old Bhatia\u2019s joint-third-placed finish at last week\u2019s Phoenix Open.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"i-amphtml-fill-content i-amphtml-replaced-content\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/poster-fallback.png\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust building off last week. Mike Mulholland\/Getty Images\/AFP (Photo by Mike Mulholland \/ GETTY IMAGES NORTH AMERICA \/ Getty Images via AFP)Source: AFP<\/p>\n<p>Fowler bogeyed the 14th but produced an otherwise flawless round featuring nine birdies.<\/p>\n<p>Chasing his first PGA Tour win since 2023, 37-year-old Fowler is on the mend after battling through injury in a 2025 season that saw him briefly drop outside the world top-100.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy shoulder was bad all last year so I was just trying to manage and get through as best that I could,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy body and shoulder feel a lot better than it did last year,\u201d added Fowler.
