A clean run on the blue course helped give the Aussie a 27-8 victory over Canada’s Jessica Linton (red course) in their 1\/8 final.<\/p>\n

How do they do the scoring of dual moguls?<\/p>\n

– Bec<\/p>\n

Athletes are judged on three criteria: turns, air and speed.<\/p>\n

There are seven judges, with each having five possible votes to compare the athletes on the red and blue courses.<\/p>\n

According to the official Winter Olympics website, the judges use voting combinations of 5-0, 4-1, 3-2, 2-3, 1-4, or 0-5.<\/p>\n

Getting across the line first doesn’t guarantee victory, as speed only accounts for a portion of the total score.<\/p>\n

Australia’s Emma Bosco has exited the women’s dual moguls in the 1\/8 finals.<\/p>\n

Bosco \u2014 on the red course \u2014 went down to individual silver medallist Jaelin Kauf (blue course), who had a bye in the first round.<\/p>\n

Kauf is through to the quarterfinals, triumphing 29-6 on the final total scores.<\/p>\n

Emma Bosco will be the first of the Aussies up in the 1\/8 finals, or the round of 16.<\/p>\n

Bosco will be on the red course in the first match-up with American Jaelin Kauf (blue course), who won silver in the individual event.<\/p>\n

Jakara Anthony (blue course) will contest the fifth of the 1\/8 finals against Canada’s Jessica Linton (red course).<\/p>\n

Jakara Anthony is safely through to the 1\/8 finals.<\/p>\n

Anthony flew out of the gates on the red course, while her South African opponent,\u00a0Malica Malherbe (blue course), crashed to the snow early in the tricky conditions.<\/p>\n

Anthony posted a total score of 35, with Malherbe recording a DNF.<\/p>\n

The Aussie will compete against Canada’s Jessica Linton in the next round.<\/p>\n

After days of gorgeous blue skies and warmish weather, the snow has come with a vengeance to the Livigno Valley. <\/p>\n

Low cloud has brought steady falling snow, which has been coming down since last night. <\/p>\n

It\u2019ll be slower on the course, with the flat light making things extra hard for all competitors.<\/p>\n

Emma Bosco takes the victory in the all-Australian match-up in the opening round of the women’s dual moguls.<\/p>\n

Her teammate Charlotte Wilson had a fall early and was unable to recover the ground she lost, although she did manage to finish.<\/p>\n

For the record, the final total scores were 29-6 in favour of Bosco, who will face American Jaelin Kauf in the 1\/8 finals.<\/p>\n

Jakara Anthony still to come.<\/p>\n

Bosco and Wilson are in the second 1\/16 final, with the competition kicking off at 8:30pm AEDT.<\/p>\n

The men’s giant slalom has made a start at the Stelvio Ski Centre.<\/p>\n

There are 81 athletes competing, with Australia’s Harry Laidlaw 39th in the start order for the first run.<\/p>\n

Ther second run will begin at 11:30pm AEDT.<\/p>\n

Australian aerial skier Laura Peel has withdrawn from the Milano Cortina Games, following an injury sustained at a training camp in Switzerland earlier this month.<\/p>\n

Peel suffered a ruptured ACL in her right knee but travelled to Livigno to be under the care of the Australian team medical staff in the hope she could still compete.<\/p>\n
