{"id":480619,"date":"2026-02-15T01:10:11","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T01:10:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/480619\/"},"modified":"2026-02-15T01:10:11","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T01:10:11","slug":"bruckheimer-on-top-gun-3-pirates-6-status","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/480619\/","title":{"rendered":"Bruckheimer On &#8220;Top Gun 3,&#8221; &#8220;Pirates 6&#8221; Status"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>            <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/bruckheimer-on-top-gun-3-pirates-6-status.jpg\" data-caption=\"Paramount Pictures\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" class=\"entry-thumb td-modal-image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/bruckheimer-on-top-gun-3-pirates-6-status.jpg\"   alt=\"\" title=\"bruckheimer-on-top-gun-3-pirates-6-status\"\/><\/a>Paramount Pictures<\/p>\n<p>Film producer Jerry Bruckheimer says things are still progressing on the next \u201cTop Gun\u201d and \u201cPirates of the Caribbean\u201d films.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.etonline.com\/media\/videos\/jerry-bruckheimer-gives-update-on-potential-margot-robbie-led-pirates-of-the-caribbean\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Entertainment Tonight<\/a>, he was asked which film would likely come first to which he said: \u201cI think it\u2019s a horse race between the two of them, so we\u2019ll see. Right now, Top Gun is a hair ahead, but that\u2019s it. We\u2019re expecting a script shortly [for Top Gun 3].\u201d <\/p>\n<p>He also confirmed \u201cthat he\u2019s met with Margot Robbie about the next Pirates film\u201d. Robbie was originally meant to lead a \u201cPirates of the Caribbean\u201d spin-off but that didn\u2019t come together<\/p>\n<p>The comments come after both films have seemingly been in development for some time.  In May last year, came word that Christopher McQuarrie had come on board to pen the next \u201cTop Gun\u201d film, but there\u2019s been no update since.<\/p>\n<p>Less than two weeks ago came the news that Oscar nominee Krysty Wilson-Cairns (\u201c1917\u201d) is reportedly in talks with Walt Disney Studios to write the screenplay for the sixth \u201cPirates\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>That franchise has now become a priority for newly appointed Disney CEO Josh D\u2019Amaro.
