(Supplied: Screen Territory)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">&#8220;[Crocodile Dundee] was a great foundation and a platform \u2014 it&#8217;s iconic,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">&#8220;But for us to now be able to tell our own stories in our own way, and be on either side of the camera doing those things, and building those teams and stories, is pretty epic.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">The NT government is also trying to leverage tourism dollars out of films like Kangaroo, which was set in the Red Centre and based on the story of local identity Chris &#8220;Brolga&#8221; Barns.<\/p>\n<p>Loading&#8230;<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">&#8220;We&#8217;ve got great stories, where it kind of intersects with tourism, that&#8217;s what we try and work with as well,&#8221; Ms Hughes said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Northern Territory is leading [the nation] in screen tourism.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">She said Screen Territory&#8217;s investments of $2.02 million into Kangaroo, Top End Bub and Journey Home had brought more than $9.5 million back into the NT economy for Central Australia, Darwin and the Tiwi Islands.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"A group of crew members with film equipment, working outside the Humpty Doo Pub.\" class=\"Image_image__5tFYM ContentImage_image__DQ_cq\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/0b04f71cad8b85366d5fefb6019c42a8.jpeg\" loading=\"lazy\" data-component=\"Image\" data-lazy=\"true\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"Typography_base__sj2RP FigureCaption_text__zDxQ5 Typography_sizeMobile12__w_FPC Typography_lineHeightMobile20___U7Vr Typography_regular__WeIG6 Typography_colourInherit__dfnUx\" data-component=\"Typography\">Humpty Doo Hotel is among the iconic NT locations featured in Top End Bub.
