The Pittsburgh Steelers<\/a> are waiting to see whether quarterback Aaron Rodgers will return for the 2026 season, but it looks like the future Hall of Famer isn’t in any rush to make a decision.<\/p>\n

During an appearance on ESPN’s SportsCenter, NFL insider Jeremy Fowler stated that he doesn’t expect a quick resolution on Rodgers’ future.<\/p>\n

“Both sides are open to a potential return,” Fowler said on SportsCenter on Saturday [H\/T Bleacher Report].<\/a> “Aaron Rodgers tends to take his time on such matters, so I don’t expect a swift resolution, but head coach Mike McCarthy likes Aaron Rodgers of course from his time in Green Bay. He is a bridge option for them. They’ve looked hard at quarterbacks in the 2026 draft, so they certainly could draft one.”<\/p>\n

“They like Will Howard, their backup, former late-round pick. But look, Rodgers was rejuvenated last year coming out of Pittsburgh. He loved his teammates, loved being there. So, certainly there’s an option for them to come together once again.”<\/p>\n

Though most reports indicate that there is a high chance Rodgers returns to Pittsburgh in 2026<\/a>, it would be absolutely draining if the Steelers have to wait months once again to find their starting signal-caller.<\/p>\n

Last offseason, Rodgers took until June to sign with Pittsburgh<\/a>, and that scenario wouldn’t be ideal for the Steelers this year as they welcome a new coaching staff.<\/p>\n

As of right now, it seems like retirement or playing another year in Pittsburgh are the lone options on the table for Rodgers. We’ll see which one he ends up choosing as the offseason is officially underway.<\/p>\n
