Here’s a closer look at the contenders.

Chris Randall
Randall is arguably the prototype modern lock. Tough, relentless and ultra-reliable, his defensive output and effort areas make him a coach’s dream, while his ability to play dummy-half or edge forward adds great versatility.

Tino Fa’asuamaleaui
The skipper doesn’t need a specific position to dominate, but could lock would maximise his impact in your team? A destructive middle with leadership and a big motor, Tino’s offload game maked him a genuine point of difference through the centre third of the field.

Moeaki Fotuaika
Traditionally a front-row enforcer, Fotuaika’s consistency and power could translate seamlessly to lock in a more direct setup. Expect huge carries, big defensive numbers and no backward steps from the Origin representative. He also has a tidy passing game when required.

Klese Haas
Explosive and still developing, Haas brings energy and upside. Whether used as a middle rotation forward or injected late with impact, his athleticism and aggression give him a real point of difference in the role as he shifts from being an edge forward this season.

Kurtis Morrin
A new face in Titans colours, Morrin adds steel to the middle. A high-effort forward who thrives on line speed and defensive intensity, he looms as a strong rotation option capable of tightening the ruck when games get physical.

Luke Sommerton
While known primarily as a hooker, Sommerton’s work rate and mobility could see him fill a hybrid lock role from the bench. His service and smarts around the ruck offer a different look, especially as fatigue sets in.

Cooper Bai
One of the youngest names in the mix, but a name to watch. The Gold Coast product has size, athleticism and potential. While still early in his NRL journey, he has identified the lock position as one he wants to target.

With power, experience and versatility across the middle, the Titans aren’t short on options when it comes to locking down the No.13 jersey.
