Big minutes, high involvement and attacking intent across the competition led to immediate price swings, and anyone who nailed their opening selections is already seeing the benefits.

Charlie Cale wasted no time announcing himself as a Fantasy force. The Brumbies loose forward delivered a monster 113-point performance, the highest score of the round, built on constant involvement and impact across the park. That return triggered an immediate $0.5m rise, lifting him to $8.1m after just one game.

Fijian Drua winger Ponipate Loganimasi was not far behind. His ability to turn half chances into big moments produced 79 points and a $0.5m jump to $7.9m. Few players looked more dangerous in broken play across the opening round.

Max Jorgensen continued his upward Fantasy trend for the Waratahs. Safe, composed and heavily involved, he finished Round 1 with 73 points and climbed $0.5m to $9.1m, reinforcing his status as a premium back option.

In the forwards, Miracle Faiilagi underlined his value with a powerful all-round performance for Moana Pasifika. His 69 points translated into a $0.5m rise, pushing his price to $8.2m and rewarding managers who backed him early.

There were gains further down the price scale as well. Kadin Pritchard emerged as an early value pick, jumping $0.5m to $4.0m, while Highlanders hooker Jack Taylor quietly delivered enough to move up to $5.4m. Crusaders hooker George Bell also edged up $0.2m after a solid opening contribution.

Several of these players set the early Fantasy pace. Charlie Cale led the way on 113 points, followed by Ponipate Loganimasi on 79 and Max Jorgensen on 73. Miracle Faiilagi finished close behind on 69, with Ilaisa Droasese posting 66 for the Drua. Will Jordan’s 61 points highlighted his reliability for the Crusaders, while Noah Hotham added 58 and William Havili chipped in with 56 for Moana Pasifika.

Selection trends also told an early story. Tupou Vaa’i was the most popular player in Round 1, selected by 62.6 percent of teams, followed by Carlo Tizzano at 51.3 percent. Sevu Reece appeared in 46 percent of sides, with Ethan de Groot and Leicester Fainga’anuku close behind at 45.1 and 42.9 percent respectively.

After just one round, the message for Fantasy managers is already clear. Prices are moving quickly, form is being rewarded instantly, and hesitation can be costly. With Round 2 approaching, the challenge now is deciding which early performances are the foundation of a big season and which were simply a fast start.
