KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghan mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Javed Basharat has officially announced his departure from the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).<\/p>\n
In a statement posted on his Facebook page, Basharat said: \u201cMy chapter with the UFC has come to a close. I leave with my head held high and my standards intact.\u201d<\/p>\n
He emphasised that his professional values remain steadfast, noting that as a fighter who has consistently competed at the highest level, he has always conducted himself with professionalism, discipline and respect \u2014 principles he intends to uphold moving forward.<\/p>\n
The 29-year-old also expressed his gratitude to fans and supporters, writing: \u201cThank you to everyone who stood with me \u2014 I truly appreciate the support.\u201d<\/p>\n
Basharat concludes his UFC career with a professional MMA record of 15 wins and two losses. Meanwhile, his younger brother, Farid Basharat, who remains unbeaten, continues to compete in the organisation.<\/p>\n
