Prashant Narayanan<\/a>, best known for his chilling performance in Murder 2 opposite Emraan Hashmi, recently shared his candid thoughts on performances in Dhurandhar. The actor, whose role in Murder 2 was inspired by Buffalo Bill from The Silence of the Lambs, earned praise for bringing intensity and unpredictability to the screen. Years later, he continues to speak his mind, this time about contemporary actors and craft. In a recent interview, Prashant did not hold back when discussing Kartik Aaryan<\/a>, calling him an \u201cextremely lucky person.\u201d His comments quickly grabbed attention, but he also offered a more layered take on Dhurandhar<\/a> and its leading man.<\/p>\n

Calling Dhurandhar a \u201cwell-made film,\u201d Prashant said that he had expected it to leave a stronger impact. \u201cIt’s a well-made film. But the impact that it could have created has not been exploited enough. I feel that it could have,\u201d he told Bollywood Bubble.<\/p>\n

\u2018Ranveer is an extremely brave actor\u2019
Speaking about Ranveer Singh<\/a>, Prashant struck a balanced tone, mixing praise with analysis. \u201cI think Ranveer is an extremely brave actor. Ranveer is somebody who has done so many different things, like right from Band Baaja Baaraat, so many things that he\u2019s done, including Gully Boy,\u201d he said, appreciating the actor\u2019s varied filmography that spans films like Band Baaja Baaraat and Gully Boy.<\/p>\n

However, he felt that the character\u2019s subtlety in Dhurandhar could have been approached differently. He felt the actor was too eye-catching and too attractive for a role that required blending in. He added that the actor looked very handsome in the film, good, tough, dressed in tight kurtas with a muscular appearance, contact lenses and long hair, which made the character stand out more than intended. He concluded that the overall look was simply too eye-catching for someone meant to remain unnoticed.<\/p>\n

According to Prashant, when a character is meant to infiltrate or blend into a setting, being visually striking can work against the narrative intention.
\u2018Not the big roles, but the smaller characters caught my attention\u2019
Interestingly, Prashant revealed that some supporting performances stood out more to him than the lead roles. \u201cI loved what Gaurav did. I loved what Akshay\u2019s father did,” he said, referring to Akshaye Khanna<\/a>\u2019s character.
He further added that there was another actor in the film who had a small moment where he was eating an apple and then threw it, and that such performances stayed with him. He said these were the actors who had done a good job in the film, not necessarily the ones assigned the big roles. According to him, the larger performances felt \u201cnormal\u201d and nothing extraordinary, but it was these smaller characters who truly caught his attention.<\/p>\n

Addressing whether his earlier remarks about Padmaavat had led to any backlash, Prashant clarified, \u201cNo. I think they understood my intention of what I’m saying. I’m not trying to demean anybody. I don’t have the right to do that. And I will never do that also.\u201d He added that influential stars must be mindful of their words and the impact they carry.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Dhurandhar Part 2: The Revenge<\/a>, directed by Aditya Dhar, is set to release on March 19, 2026. The film features Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi and R. Madhavan, and will clash at the box office with Toxic: Not A Fairytale Romance starring Yash.<\/p>\n
