{"id":483546,"date":"2026-02-16T11:17:10","date_gmt":"2026-02-16T11:17:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/483546\/"},"modified":"2026-02-16T11:17:10","modified_gmt":"2026-02-16T11:17:10","slug":"one-motogp-legend-thinks-marc-marquezs-riding-style-now-resembles-his","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/483546\/","title":{"rendered":"One MotoGP legend thinks Marc Marquez\u2019s riding style now resembles his"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Three-time MotoGP world champion Jorge Lorenzo believes Marc Marquez \u201calmost seems like me\u201d in terms of his riding style, having become \u201cvery smooth, very precise\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/1558\/jorge-lorenzo\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jorge Lorenzo<\/a> was famed for his ultra-smooth riding style during his MotoGP career, which helped him to three world titles between 2010 and 2015.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/1654\/marc-marquez\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Marc Marquez<\/a>, by contrast, came into MotoGP with a more bombastic riding style, which saw him test limits few could.<\/p>\n<p>Since his serious arm injury in 2020, however, Marquez has repeatedly spoken about how he has had to change his approach.<\/p>\n<p>This is something that Lorenzo has visibly noticed about the factory <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/teams\/ducati-lenovo-team\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ducati<\/a> rider when he\u2019s on track, noting that he is \u201cvery calculated\u201d now.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat has impressed me most about Marc is that he has reinvented himself, he has reinvented his riding style,\u201d Lorenzo told the official MotoGP website during the Sepang test broadcast.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday, when you see Marc, he almost seems like me: he&#8217;s very smooth, he doesn&#8217;t make any mistakes when braking, he never runs wide, he&#8217;s very precise and very fluid when straightening the bike.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen he started in MotoGP, he was completely different.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe set his own times and reached speeds solely thanks to his talent, because he was brave and took a lot of risks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut now, everything he does, he does in a very calculated, very thoughtful way.
