The Arizona Cardinals<\/a> are preparing for their offseason moves in free agency and the NFL draft. So is the rest of the NFL draft.<\/p>\n

The offseason is dominated by two things \u2014 cap space and draft capital.<\/p>\n

NFL.com researcher Zak Koeppel ranked all 32 teams<\/a> based on their combined cap space and draft picks.<\/p>\n

Where do the Cardinals rank?<\/p>\n

They come in at No. 6.<\/p>\n

This offseason will be a consequential one in Arizona; the Cardinals have big roster decisions to make as they begin the Mike LaFleur era. The most significant question is what to do with quarterback Kyler Murray, whose $19.5 million base salary for 2027 becomes fully guaranteed on March 15. That date therefore marks an unofficial deadline for the team’s decision on Murray, who has been Arizona’s centerpiece since he was drafted first overall in 2019.<\/p>\n

The Cardinals have some assets to work with this offseason, most notably the No. 3 overall pick in the draft. They’ll pair that with nearly $40 million in cap space, although given the status of the roster and the loaded state of the NFC West, a full rebuild could be in store.<\/p>\n

They are behind the Los Angeles Rams, who have two first-round picks, and ahead of the Cincinnati Bengals.<\/p>\n

However, even with cap space and draft picks, the way they address the quarterback position will make or break the season and their future.<\/p>\n

However, at least they are in a solid position to be able to perhaps make some necessary changes to turn things around.<\/p>\n
