A bevy of well known and international actors have headed to WA\u2019s South West<\/a> as filming for Netflix series Breakers ramps up.<\/p>\n

Among the stars is lead actor Antony Starr, the New Zealander best known from his role as Homelander in the Amazon Prime Video hit series, The Boys.<\/p>\n

Joining him as series regulars is an influx of fresher talent including Canadian D\u2019Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, who in 2024 made history as the first Indigenous actor nominated for a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. for his role in Reservation Dogs.<\/p>\n

Emerging Australian talent and disability advocate Oliver Edis has also joined the cast. He appeared in the series Gnomes, but joining Breakers will represent a significant milestone breakout role.<\/p>\n

Annabel Wolfe will also join the cast, best known for her role Wren Radic in the popular Netflix teen drama Surviving Summer and is set to star in the upcoming Australian action-thriller film Seven Snipers, due for release in April.<\/p>\n

The eight-part series is the biggest production to take place in Western Australia, expected to employ more than 100 locals and inject more than $19 million into the WA economy.<\/p>\n

Breakers executive producer Wim De Greef, who produced multi-Emmy award winning series Baby Reindeer, credited Screenwest for helping make it happen.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Australian Government\u2019s Location Offset, together with the support of the WA Government through Screenwest, has played a key role in making this production possible at the scale we hoped for, and we are thankful for that support,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Other actors playing support roles include Asher Yasbincek as Maggie (Heartbreak High, The Heights), David Howell as Iggy (Run, The Narrow Road To The Deep North), Tyroe Muhafidin as Danno (The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power), Tom Dawson as Don (Tenzing, He Had It Coming), Sherry-Lee Watson as Astrid (Heartbreak High, Thou Shalt Not Steal for Stan), Lu Miller as Amara (Nansie), Eliza Learmonth as Clementine (Baby Shower), and Brodie Townsend as Kurt (Heartbreak High, Significant Others).<\/p>\n
