There is a major investigation underway after workmen unearthed human remains at a Victorian<\/a> park.<\/p>\n

On Friday, building works were being conducted at Victoria Park in Echuca when the workers discovered bones.<\/p>\n

In the days since the discovery, the bones were assessed and on Wednesday it was confirmed they are human.<\/p>\n

A crime scene was established and police are now working to figure out further details, including whether the matter is suspicious.<\/p>\n

Anyone with information is urged to contact police.<\/p>\n

In January, human remains were found in the backyard of a Victorian holiday home on Phillip Island during plumbing works.<\/a><\/p>\n

The plumbers were digging a trench to replace a sewer pipe when one of the workers made the shocking discovery about 50cm below the surface.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe just pulled a bit of sand out and emptied his bucket, and that\u2019s when he saw the human head,\u201d witness Riley Weinzierl told 7NEWS at the time.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe rest of them stopped excavating at that point and had a look around in the sand, and there were a few more bones and things.\u201d<\/p>\n
