Danika Mason has issued a grovelling apology after a viral live TV cross where she was slurring her words and struggling to form sentences.<\/p>\n
The Today Show sports reporter admitted on Thursday that she should not have gone on air after drinking.<\/p>\n
On Wednesday morning, viewers were left baffled, confused and concerned over Mason\u2019s condition, as she struggled to remain coherent during a cross from Livingo, Italy, as part of the winter games coverage.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s actually the price of coffee in the US we have to get used to. I\u2019m not sure about the iguanas?\u201d she said, as Karl Stefanovic and Jayne Azzopardi looked on, both amused and confused.<\/p>\n \u201cWhere are we going with that one?\u201d Mason added.<\/p>\n As Mason delivered the unusual remarks, her speech became slurred and she stumbled over words while reporting outside in the cold.<\/p>\n At one point, she jumped into a pile of snow to giggle about how much there was.<\/p>\n On Thursday, a serious Mason was back on screens ready to apologise.<\/p>\n During her early morning cross, she admitted she \u201cmisjudged a situation\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cGuys, just before we do go, I just want to take a moment, if that\u2019s okay, just to apologise,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n \u201cI also wanted to thank everyone who has reached out. I\u2019m just a little bit embarrassed. I totally misjudged a situation. I shouldn\u2019t have had a drink, and especially in these conditions. It\u2019s cold, we\u2019ve got altitude, and not having had dinner probably didn\u2019t help as well.\u201d<\/p>\n Mason said she wanted to \u201ctake full responsibility\u201d for the bizarre incident.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s not the standard that I set for myself. So in saying that, I\u2019m really sorry \u2026 and I\u2019m grateful for those messages that I have received as well,\u201d she said on Thursday.<\/p>\n \u201cBut we have an amazing few days left here at the Winter Olympics, so hopefully we can turn our attention back to that.
