Charlie Curnow has slotted into Sydney\u2019s forward line with aplomb, booting three goals against the Bulldogs on Thursday. <\/p>\n
Just 12 minutes into match simulation play, Curnow got free to mark a beautiful Errol Gulden exit kick after bursting away from stoppage. <\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s the combination they\u2019ve been talking about all summer; Charlie\u2019s eyes would have lit up just then, a sensational kick from Gulden,\u201d former Swans star Dan Hannebery said on the Kayo Sports broadcast. <\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s the combination that all Swans fans and coaches will be licking their lips over.\u201d<\/p>\n
Curnow had his second major halfway through the second term, and it came via another direct goal assist from Errol Gulden, who this time exploded through the corridor and delivered long to the ex-Blue, who\u2019d created space in the pocket.<\/p>\n
\u201cGulden\u2019s hit him up twice now, so he\u2019s licking his lips anytime Errol is shoulders-out and facing goals,\u201d Hannebery said. <\/p>\n
And while he had two goals to his name at the main change, it could have been more, with a few \u2018almost\u2019 moments not quite going his way at Whitten Oval. <\/p>\n
\u201c(He) looks primed; he looks like he\u2019s got a point to prove, doesn\u2019t he?\u201d said Kayo caller Damian Watson. <\/p>\n
Curnow\u2019s third major of the afternoon came after once more getting free inside 50, kicking accurately again from a set shot. <\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Malcolm Rosas, another of the Swans\u2019 off-season recruits, was also impressive in attack as a pressuring goalsneak. <\/p>\n
The ex-Sun kicked his first goal in Swans colours within minutes of the game beginning, pouncing in the goalsquare after a great piece of pressure. <\/p>\n
\u201cHow lively; he\u2019s exactly what they\u2019ve lacked a bit at times,\u201d Hannebery said. <\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019ve had Papley and Hayward, but Paps has always needed an extra sort of support down there to crumb and create. <\/p>\n
\u201cHis liveliness up forward, it\u2019s got other players into the game. Charlie and Logan have worked really well together, creating a great contest; their pressure is up forward of centre.\u201d<\/p>\n
Rosas also had two majors by half-time, bringing a truly exciting small forward element in Papley\u2019s absence. <\/p>\n
He continued his solid work into the second half, hitting contests hard and at speed. <\/p>\n
\u201cHe has been a big impact player today; something happens when he\u2019s around the ball. They haven\u2019t had that sort of player for a while, the Swans,\u201d Hannebery said in the final term. <\/p>\n
As Hannebery noted on the broadcast, Rosas and Papley are set to form a dangerous combination for Dean Cox to play with. <\/p>\n
