A new fully bulk-billing GP surgery has opened in Hamilton Hill.<\/p>\n
Nova Medical Centre Hamilton Hill opened this month as part of the Federal Government\u2019s $8.5 billion investment in Medicare.<\/p>\n
Centre spokesperson Asim Shehzad said they had identified a shortage of GP capacity in the Hamilton Hill region.<\/p>\n
\u201cOpening this centre is our response to that need,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cBy adopting a fully bulk-billing model, we are supporting the community at a time when cost-of-living pressures are high and access to affordable healthcare is more important than ever.\u201d<\/p>\n
Fremantle MHR Josh Wilson visited the centre on February 17.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis new medical centre in Hamilton Hill is able to provide fully bulk-billed consults because of the Albanese Government\u2019s historic investment that has incentivised GPs to provide bulk-billed services to anyone with a Medicare card,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cFrom East Fremantle to Coolbellup and Beeliar to Hamilton Hill, it\u2019s fantastic to see more fully bulk-billing GP clinics are emerging to meet the demand for preventative care in our community.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Federal Government says about 96 per cent of Australians are now within a 20-minute drive of a registered Medicare bulk-billing practice.<\/p>\n
