Fremantle recruits Mason Cox and Judd McVee will make their club debuts in Saturday’s scratch match against West Coast at Cockburn.

Draftee Toby Murray and recent SSP selection Chris Scerri will also play in Dockers colours against an AFL opponent for the first time.

They were the new names in a 26-player squad.

But ruckman Sean Darcy will miss with a minor calf injury he suffer in an 18 v 18 on January 30.

Darcy trained away from the main group on Tuesday, taking part in one-on-one work with fellow ruck Aiden Riddle.

He is expected to train on Tuesday and play against Adelaide in Mandurah on Saturday week.

His absence will mean Fremantle will ruck with Cox and Luke Jackson against the Eagles.

Murray, 20, a small forward from Geelong in the VFL, who kicked 22 goals and averaged 15 disposals across 17 games last season, was taken with pick 40 in the national draft.

Small forward Scerri, 19, secured the final spot on Fremantle’s 2026 list on Thursday.

The Northern Bullants best first-year player last season arrived at Fremantle in late November, opting for a move west after originally offered a train-on spot with Richmond.

Collingwood premiership player Cox, 34, signed a two-year deal with the Dockers as an SSP player in November after being delisted by the Magpies.

The 211cm Texas-born crowd-pleaser played 139 games and kicked 127 goals with the Magpies.

McVee, 22, joined the Dockers as a free agent after playing 65 games for Melbourne across four seasons.

Quick and nimble out of the backline, Dockers fans will be salivating over his likely pairing in defence with All-Australian Jordan Clark.

The match simulation will be closed to the general public.
