\u201cTim, perfect health\u201d she tells me in an interview for 7NEWS podcast The Issue.<\/p>\n
\u201cI still run down the hallways of parliament in my heels when I have to get to the chamber for a vote.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI tell you what, I\u2019d leave a lot of those other women for dead and I\u2019m the second eldest in that chamber.\u201d<\/p>\n
She\u2019d also likely leave Barnaby Joyce for dead. The former Deputy Prime Minister, turned unhappy Nationals backbencher turned One Nation recruit, is now Hanson\u2019s heir apparent.<\/p>\n
\u201cNothing wrong with me,\u201d Hanson adds, in case anyone missed it the first time.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe heart\u2019s still ticking. No blood pressure, nothing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Of course, party leaders and prime ministers have long waved off questions about their health – necessary, to protect your claim to having the physical capacity to lead.<\/p>\n
Right now, polling has elevated Hanson to the point where her health and potential retirement take on a greater significance.<\/p>\n
In our interview, she alluded to the issue repeatedly.<\/p>\n
She not only forecasts One Nation will be a party of government, but adds, \u201cIt\u2019s something that I want to leave in the hands of someone else who has the dedication and passion for this country.\u201d<\/p>\n
Also, \u201cI\u2019m getting near the end of my life. It\u2019s not about me anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
At one point, she puts it more bluntly. \u201cI\u2019m at the end of my career.\u201d She then quickly qualifies the statement. \u201cWell, I\u2019ve got a few years left in me. I will stand at the next election.\u201d<\/p>\n
If and when she does leave One Nation, it won\u2019t be a small decision for the Queensland fish and chip shop operator disendorsed by the Liberals in the early Howard years three decades ago.<\/p>\n
One Nation grew out of that rejection. There\u2019s a ferocity when she talks about that era, and her return to the party in the run to 2016\u2019s federal election.<\/p>\n
\u201cI came back into it in 2015,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI had to fund it myself \u2026 a lot of money to actually get it up and running again.\u201d<\/p>\n
She says those who took control of One Nation the first time \u201cundermined me and destroyed the party. They\u2019ve gone, walked away, so here I am rebuilt … the whole lot again, getting people elected to Parliament.\u201d<\/p>\n
It\u2019s about maintaining that vision over the party that no one is going to come in again to destroy it and white ant it.\u201d<\/p>\n

As Hanson spoke with The Issue, she was about to face a national outcry over comments on Muslim migration to Australia.<\/p>\n
The comments arose out of a debate over whether Australia should ban migration from regions where potential terrorists might be radicalised.<\/p>\n
One of only four Muslims serving in federal parliament, Senator Fatima Payman tells 7NEWS, Hanson\u2019s views and the broader focus on immigration issues are hurting Muslim Australians.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy office has had to cop so much hatred and discrimination and just vile content, and that\u2019s because certain politicians choose to continue that rhetoric,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The Western Australian Senator adds \u201cI\u2019d tell Pauline Hanson that if she doesn\u2019t like how things are here in Australia then she can really pack her bags and go to the US and continue being best buds with Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n
Hanson shows no signs of migrating to the United States, but there are some hints she is thinking about when to finally leave Australian politics.<\/p>\n
