Eddie Hearn has revealed a possible timeline for the return of Anthony Joshua following his recent car accident.<\/p>\n

Anthony Joshua is one of the best and most accomplished heavyweights of his generation and that much is obvious. With that being said, many are eager to see him step in there against more legitimate competition in the wake of recent wins over the likes of Francis Ngannou and, most notably, Jake Paul.<\/p>\n

However, Joshua was involved in a road accident recently in which two of his close friends were killed<\/a>. Understandably, he\u2019s made the decision to take some time away from the sport and recover, both physically and mentally.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview with Boxing Scene, his promoter Eddie Hearn gave an update on when we can realistically expect to see Joshua back in the ring.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Hearn discusses Joshua\u2019s possible comeback timeline<\/p>\n

\u201cOriginally the plan with \u2018AJ\u2019 was for him to fight in March and then fight Tyson Fury in August,\u201d Hearn told BoxingScene. \u201cThat\u2019s not happening. He\u2019s not fighting Tyson Fury next. He\u2019s going to come back, I believe, in late summer, but physically he\u2019s not yet in a position to return to camp.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, I\u2019m planning, but he\u2019s just resting and preparing. So, for me, I\u2019m looking at options to get him back in the ring in July time, but we\u2019ll only know if that\u2019s a real possibility when he returns to camp, which will hopefully be in the next couple of weeks or a month.\u201d<\/p>\n
