{"id":495368,"date":"2026-02-21T20:38:17","date_gmt":"2026-02-21T20:38:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/495368\/"},"modified":"2026-02-21T20:38:17","modified_gmt":"2026-02-21T20:38:17","slug":"cardinals-sign-ramon-urias-to-a-1-year-deal-with-option","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/495368\/","title":{"rendered":"Cardinals sign Ram\u00f3n Ur\u00edas to a 1-year deal with option"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>JUPITER, Fla. &#8212; The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com.au\/mlb\/team\/_\/name\/stl\/st-louis-cardinals\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">St. Louis Cardinals<\/a> have signed infielder Ram\u00f3n Ur\u00edas to a one-year contract with a mutual option for 2027, the team announced Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Ur\u00edas, 31, played most of his career with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com.au\/mlb\/team\/_\/name\/bal\/baltimore-orioles\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Baltimore Orioles<\/a> before getting traded to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com.au\/mlb\/team\/_\/name\/hou\/houston-astros\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Houston Astros<\/a> in the middle of last season. Between the two teams, he hit .241 with 11 homers and 44 RBIs in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Ur\u00edas had his best season in 2022 when he hit 16 homers and won a Gold Glove at third base, which is his primary position.
